After the success of round 1 in Bree Co. Wexford, the second round moved a few miles up the road to Cloon Forest in Co. Wicklow and the inimitable welcome, organisation and craic that only the Epic MTB club can deliver.
One of the biggest clubs in Ireland (if it’s the biggest I apologise Richie – and I’m sure you’ll put me right) made good use of its minions, goobers et al with the Happy Fairy and Adam Tynan leading and directing them.
Cycling Ireland's High Performance Unit will work with the MTB Commission and MTB managers and coaches to identify and establish development MTB squads in XC and DH during the spring of 2010. 
2010 Irish Winter League Round 2
The “noughties” are now gone and Irish DH enters a new decade in good health and much hope and anticipation of more DH specific trails………..hopefully within this decade. If it doesn’t happen it won’t be for the lack of effort put in by the likes of Sean (the Happy Fairy) Herlihy, Michael Cowan and all the others who have a vision and aspiration for this non Olympic sport that trashes all other bike events for pure excitement, adrenaline pump and craic.
The 3rd and 4th rounds of the Irish DH Winter league are due to take place on 13/14th February and 27/28th February 2010 in Moneyscalp Forest, Co Down.
The second round of the 2010 winter league takes place on the weekend of 30/31st January in Cloon Wood, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.
The cobwebs were dusted off on Sunday 17th January 2010 when the masses travelled to Bree, Co Wexford for the first round of the 2010 Irish Winter League.
