Ladies MTB Beginner Sessions

Nov 06

A Ladies MTB Beginners day will be held on Saturday 18th November, based at Craigavon Watersports Centre. The session is aimed at Ladies who want to try mountain biking for the first time, and those who would like to improve their mtb skills.

The session will be run by Cycling Ulster’s Ladies MTB Team Manager Ciara McManus. Ciara has been involved in mountain biking for a number of years, recently she made her debut for the Irish International Squad, finishing sixth in a major international race in Turkey. Ciara will be assisted by Conor Graham, both Ciara and Conor are qualified MTB Leaders.

The session will begin at 10am, the first part of the morning being spent on basic skills required for mountain biking. Following a break for tea/coffee, the remainder of the session will involve the riders completing a lap of the MTB Trail around Craigavon Lakes. Both Ciara and Conor are keen to emphasise that the Ladies Beginners Day is all about fun, it does not involve competition of any sort.
It should also be noted that this event is just for Ladies, so please, no
men or kids!

The session can cater for between 10 -15 riders. Anyone requiring a bike may hire one for a cost of £10. The session is free of charge, and showers will be available in the Watersports Centre. Anyone interested should get in touch with Ciara at ciaramacmanus@yahoo.com
