Chain Reaction Cycles sponsors the Irish Downhill team in Fort William

Chain Reaction Cycles has announced it will be sponsoring the 2007 Irish downhill team at the World Championships in Fort William.

The event, due to take place between 3rd-10th September 2007, will be the biggest mountainbike event ever to be held in the British Isles, with thousands expected to turn out to see the riders compete.

Chain Reaction Cycles will be supporting the Irish downhill team by providing top mechanic, Dale McMullan, as well as tools and spares for the event in the tech area of the pits in the Ben Nevis complex.

Speaking about the sponsorship, Michael Cowan of Chain Reaction Cycles said "Chain Reaction has been involved in local downhill events for many years. We see it as a way of getting involved in the World Champs on a local level, by supporting the team and management and making sure the riders are totally at ease and focused on the world championships race itself"

Joe ward, Irish team manager, said he is delighted that Chain Reaction are supporting the Irish team, a local shop supporting local riders.

The Irish team travelling to the event are

Elite - Ben Reid, Stephen Beattie, Darren Quille, Gerard Wolfe, Dan Wolfe and Greg O'Keefe

Junior -Seanan O'Riordan, Ewan Doherty, Jason Murphy and Karl O'Sullivan

IrishDH would like to wish the Irish team and Chain Reaction every success with the event and will be at Fort William to report on the event throughout the week.
