Winter League 2007 Preview
Round 4 - Sunday 18th February 2007 CLOON - Epic
Feb 07
The final round of the 2007 winter league takes place on Sunday 18th February in Cloon Wood, Enniskerry. Home to the second round of the winter league, the same course is expected to be used!
This year, the downhill committee has established a new set of categories as follows:
The following is a summary of the race categories for 2007 and will hopefully give riders an indication of which category they should be competing in. Once a rider races in a category, they will be unable to change the category throughout the series. This is the case for every race series in Ireland.
U14 - Born 1993 or 1994
U16 - Born 1991 or 1992
Junior - Born 1989 or 1990
Vets - Any riders over 40
Ladies - All female riders
Master - 30 years of age or over in current year
Sport - (over 18) Riders who are new to racing, who don't race regularly or who don't intend to race in every event. - Those riders who are just in it for the fun.
Senior - (over 18) Riders who are very serious about the event, are of a high standard and are able to do all the jumps, drops and put in fast times.
Elite - (over 18) Professional riders or extremely fast amateurs, that is, riders of a World Cup standard and who have ambitions of riding at this level.

Race Licence
Any rider who does not hold a 2007 race licence needs to obtain a day licence. Day licences cost £10Stg or 15 Euro for all riders except youth riders (U14/U16) - A race licence for U14 and U16s will cost £3.50Stg or 5 Euro.
A day licence will not automatically make you a member of Cycling Ireland, and therefore, anyone wishing to compete in the national championships, and who doesn't have a full licence will not be eligible for medal (and also your race place will not be counted).
If you intend to race in the national championships, it is recommended you purchase a full Cycling Ireland licence immediately as each day licence fee cannot be claimed back towards the purchase of a full licence.
No Mini Bikes in Cloon Wood
Organisers do not have permission from the Coillte to allow Mini Bikes or similar in the forest during the event. Please don't put the organisers in a position where riders are disqualified for breaking this rule.
Riders are also asked to take their rubbish home with them. Failure to do so may put the venue at risk for future events.
