Rider's Bikes

Ian McIntyre's Intense M3

Dec 05

Frame: Intense M3

Size medium. VPP actually works well although I don’t do much pedaling. (mental note start training and give up the cigs)

Forks: Fox 40RC2

Spring changed to heavier version. High and low speed compression adjustment. These are incredibly light weight for their size.

Rear Shock: TF Tuned 5 th Element

3’ stroke with a 450x 3’ ti spring. 105 psi gives a really active ride.

Stem: Easton Vice

50mm Length standard clamp

Handlebars: Easton EC70

Standard width.

Headset: Hope

Stick it on and forget about it.

Grips: ODI lock on

Brakes: Hope Mono 6ti

225mm disk on the front and standard 185mm on the rear.

Shifter: Shimano LX

9 speed.

Rear Mech: Shimano Dura Ace

Short cage road mech

Block: Shimano Ultegra 12/25

A close ratio block means smooth shifts with no big steps in the gearing.

Cranks: Saint

Light, strong and stiff. 170mm.

Chain Device: E Thirteen.

Great chain device, never drops the chain.

Chain Ring: 38t ring

As john said a chain ring is a chain ring.

Pedals: Easton Flatboy

No devil pedals for me, stick a set of FiveTen’s on your feet and go.

Chain: Connex Whipperman

Hubs: Hadley

Unbelievably smooth. If they’re good enough for Steve Peat then…

Rims: Intense Mag30 DH

Gun metal grey.

Tyres: Maxxis High Roller front and rear.

Good for all tracks, except Innerleithen in the dry.

Seatpost: Easton EA50

Clamp the saddle to it and forget about it.

Saddle: Fizik Gobi ti rails.

Very light and strong.
