So, the winter series is upon us again. Despite losing Moneyscalp at short notice the Plush crew have pulled out all the stops to give us some great racing this winter and sharpen us up for the season ahead. Ballycarton has been used as a DH venue for years and the course keeps getting better, especially since it was upgraded by Trevor Fairbrother and crew, adding huge berms, rock gardens and even some northshore,

The track is rollable from top to bottom with no silly gaps or drops and is well rideable on a Hardtail if your DH rig isn’t ready. At the minute the track is riding well although it’s a bit greasy so spikes can come in useful.

As usual in the winter league, Racing is on Sunday.

Directions

Ballycarton forest is on the A2, halfway between Castlerock and Limavady. It takes around 1 hour 15 mins from Belfast via Coleraine and just over 2 hours from Dundalk, via Armagh, Dungannon, Cookstown and Limavady. Try the AA route planner for details.
