Irish NPS Round 4 Butter Mountain Double header DH & 4X Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th July 2005 July 05 With the first 3 rounds complete, and at this stage the IrishDH NPS league tables could go anywhere! 3 different races with 3 different winners! NPS 4 at Butter Mountain is a completely different venue, a longer course, and surely should seperate the boys from the men...... This year, the Newbridge guys are at it again..... on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July we see another NPS double header with the 4X on Saturday and DH on Sunday.
The course to be used is the new course on the far side of the mountain, with and open-start and open finish and a very quick shoot section. It also boasts a 20 foot gap (as shown in the photo above). The course is estimated to be 3.30 minutes long, therefore boasting the longest downhill course so far this year. The 4x will be the same as last year. Suitable for your DH bike or hardtail, it consists of doubles, step downs and is ultra-quick!
The format for the event is as follows: Saturday 8th July 2005 Downhill Practice 9.30am- 3.30pm Sign-on for 4X 3pm-4pm 4X practice 4pm-6pm 4X 6.40pm Sunday 9th July Downhill Practice 9.30am-11am Downhill race (1st run) 12noon Downhill race (2nd run) 2pm Riders are remises that anyone caught on the track outside the official times will be banned from racing - no exceptions. Cost of entry DH - Seniors/Masters/ Vets 30 Euro DH - Juniors/U16's/U14's £ 20 Euros 4X - All categories 10 Euro The cost of a day licence is 15 Euros and a day licence will apply for both events. Uplift will be provided on Saturday The Weather The weather is looking promising so far, but as usual anyone wishing to keep an eye on the local weather for the event should click HERE! How to get there Half way between Tallagh and Blessington (on the N81) turn opposite the Blue Gardinia pub. Follow this road (through Brittas) for 1.4 miles and at a sharp bend at a Y junction turn right. Drivers be warned this is a dangerous bend so please be cautious. Follow this road for 1.2 miles and the event is on the left.
