Sponsors, Real Cycles, which is based in Carryduff, is an official test rider centre for Kona, and has also recently announced it is the sole Northern Ireland dealer for Commencal Mountain Bikes.

The Moneyscalp 4x was built about a year and half ago by Stephen Maginn and several friends as well as help recently from Glyn O’Brien, Ireland’s top downhiller. The track its self is 30-40 seconds long and consists of 7 corners and 14 jumps and numerous other obstacles.

The course starts on the start gate and after a short straight the action begins with a small roller into a double. This is followed by a right hand corner into a left hand corner with a small roller/step up double in between.

Following these two corners there is a double then another short straight which leads you into a step down. As soon as you land off the step down you are ready to hit the triple which is one of the most fun and spectacular jumps of the whole course.

After the triple there is a wide right hand corner with a huge berm on the outside or an almost flat inside line. Following this corner riders faced two small doubles and then a left hand corner with a double on the exit. The section after this has been completely redesigned for this year’s event as shown below.

The format of the day is as follows
